The Caring people at Imboden Creek,

How do you start a letter you never wanted to write? Though Jo left my life, she will never leave my thoughts and memories. There is no way I can adequantely show my appreciation for the thoughtful attention you gave to my wife. I will never forget it.

Everything and everyone has been wonderful at Imboden Creek Living Center. I can't thank you enough for allowing my dad to join the Imboden family. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted - I know he is in good hands.

My whole family has commented on what a warm and beautiful place it is.

Thank you so much!

Life at Imboden Gardens is like a garden – Beautiful flowers in the spring, good friendships inside, lots of activities for you if you want, and a very caring staff. I am so happy to be here….Old folks do enjoy life, you know, and have fun.

Imboden Gardens is a wonderful place to call home. The grounds, with all the trees, flowering shrubs, beds and pots of colorful flowers make a beautiful greeting. One could not wish for a more dedicated group of people who work here. They are all so caring and attentive to your every need. There are extensive activities daily which you may join if you wish. I have made many new friends, and I am so happy I made the decision to live here.

Our family wants to thank you and your entire staff for the wonderful care and concern shown to our Mom over the past week. You are all simply wonderful! We really don't know where to begin to enumerate all of the large and small kindnesses and professional help Mom received.

This is the first time Mom has been ill since she moved into Imboden Gardens. We know how wonderful things are for her during good days and now we know the special ways things are handled when there is more need of assistance.

Thank you also for allowing us to stay with Mom. The extra meals, extra time it takes to talk to another person, etc. are all appreciated.

Please let the staff know of our gratitude,

The Family of Emmy L.

Dear Friends at Imboden Creek Living Center,

I want to tell you all how deeply I appreciate all the kindness you showed and help you gave to my father while he lived there. I am profoundly grateful for your kindness toward my dad. He could be difficult sometimes – he also could be kind, and fun. I will never, ever forget all you did for my dad and my family.

Kindest regards,

Nancy Worley Guenthere

For me, like a lot of people, my experience with nursing homes was very limited until Dad got sick in the Spring. Although I had a very good general idea of how things worked in a nursing home, I had little appreciation for the amount of work that staff must do, nor the personal nature of most of their work.

Once Dad was disabled and could do little for himself, I learned a lot about how caregivers can do their difficult work while making sure that the resident maintains the dignity that we so often take for granted. Everyone who touched my Dad’s life while he was there did what he or she had to do with a touch and care that I can only describe as remarkable.

Dad and Betty recently moved to the Keystone assisted living facility after finding out taking care of Dad at home was much more difficult and expensive than expected. While I am happy they are now in assisted living, I regret that he and Betty didn’t consult more with family but then, I guess, like all of us, when we’re used to making our own decision, its hard to all of a sudden rely on someone else.

Please thank everyone there for me and let him or her know how special I think they all are. The two young women I saw the most when I visited (Holly and Abby) took care of my Dad as if he was their father. Everyone there should know how special they are to do what they do with the loving care they provide.

Have a very Merry Christmas,
M. Garren
